In the Middle of Becoming, Can We Still Be?
Dear Ones,
The other day, my daughter said something that landed deeper than I expected:
“You’re always working.”
It wasn’t said with judgment. Just truth.
And still—it hit me like a wave I didn’t know I was standing in.
I’ve been doing a lot lately. And maybe you have too.
Working. Building. Healing. Parenting. Creating. Becoming.
It’s all meaningful. And it’s all a lot.
That night, after the house quieted and the noise in my mind began to settle, I realized something:
I’ve gotten so good at staying in motion that I forgot how to just be.
Not because I’m broken. Not because I’m burned out. But because we live in a world that rewards the rush. That says faster is better, and rest must be earned.
And somewhere in that rhythm, the quiet parts of me—the joyful parts, the noticing parts—started to fade into the background.
So this month, I’m returning to something I know in my bones but sometimes forget:
✨ That even in the rush of becoming, we can find sacred moments to just be.
✨ That presence doesn’t require hours of free time—it asks only for our attention.
✨ That laughter, breath, softness, and joy don’t belong to another version of us—they belong here, now, in this moment.
Throughout July on The Healing Pause, I’ll be sharing stories from the middle—because that’s where I am. Not after the breakthrough. Not once everything is tidy. But right here, in the in-between. Where grief and joy both live. Where becoming meets being.
If you’ve felt like life is moving fast…
If you’re craving moments that feel like yours again…
If you’re tired of waiting until after the work is done to feel good in your body, your day, or your spirit—
This month is for you.
We’re not stepping away from life—we’re stepping into it, with more intention, more softness, and more breath.
I hope you’ll join me.
With care,
Lisa
