My Journey Home: Where Distant Shores Meet

As we enter June and approach the summer solstice, I feel called to share more intimately about my own healing and reconnection journey, a journey that has unfolded over many years and continues to deepen.

Several years ago, I met my biological siblings for the first time.

That meeting opened a portal in me, one that continues to expand with wonder, grief, and grace. In their eyes, gestures, and voices, I recognized pieces of myself I didn’t know were missing. It was as though I had stepped into a long-forgotten room in my soul and turned on the light.

Since then, I’ve been slowly and sacredly making space for the parents I never knew. My biological mother and father live in me in quiet, powerful ways. I’ve created altars for them, whispered their names in prayer, and allowed tears to fall when I feel them near. Forgiveness has bloomed over time, not always easily, not all at once, but rooted in a love that feels older than any wound. Longing still remains, but it no longer consumes me. It’s softened into reverence.

This opening—this return—led me deeper into my ancestral lineages. Not just the DNA of where I’m from, but the spiritual bloodlines that have shaped who I am becoming.

I found myself called to the Orishas, divine forces of the Yoruba tradition carried through Santería, whose presence echoed through my Puerto Rican roots. Oshun, Yemaya, Eleguá… their names lit something in me. Their energies danced through my rituals, dreams, and offerings. These weren’t myths. They were family.

At the same time, I began to remember the ancient wisdom of my Celtic ancestors, the Druids, the ones who spoke with stones and trees, who marked time by moon and solstice, who knew the Earth as a living temple. Their presence arrived like a whisper at first, then as a drumbeat in my chest.

At first, these paths felt like two different languages. But the more I listened, the more I realized they were speaking the same truth.

Both the Orishas and the Druids taught me that nature is sacred, that healing is cyclical, and that the divine is not separate from us—it moves through us. Both paths honor the solstice as a threshold, a pause, a moment when light reveals what’s been quietly growing. Both remind me that I am not just an individual; I am a continuation of those who came before and a steward for those yet to come.

The Solstice Connection: A Light Remembered

My ancestors, and perhaps yours, have honored the June solstice for countless generations. It signifies the peak of the sun's journey, a moment to rejoice in the fullness of life. This year, it feels especially poignant. I’ve been blooming slowly, quietly, over seasons of reclaiming.

And you? What is blooming in you?

What truth has been pushing through the soil of your life, waiting for light?

The Modern Dimming, and the Flame That Persists

Modern life often teaches us to forget—to forget our ancestors, our intuition, and our sacred inheritance. But forgetting is not the same as losing.

The flame still lives.

It lives in your dreams, your rituals, and your quiet moments of knowing. It lives in the ways your body remembers, even when your mind cannot explain why. The resilience of your ancestors—of mine—is proof. We are here because they endured, because they prayed, because they whispered wisdom into the wind.

Introducing The Light Within Oracle Cards

This month, I’m sharing a gift born of this journey: The Light Within Oracle Cards. These are not fortune-telling tools but sacred companions—each one a mirror reflecting a part of your soul’s light, shaped by elemental truth and ancestral remembrance.

The first three cards, which I’m sharing freely with all readers this week, center on recognition—the beginning of every healing journey. Just as I began to recognize myself more fully through the eyes of my siblings and the voices of my ancestors, I hope these cards help you begin or continue your own process of sacred recognition.

Closing Reflections:

Your path may look very different from mine. Your ancestors may speak different names, move through different stories. But the invitation is the same:

To remember.
To root.
To rise.
To reclaim.

May this solstice shine light on your becoming, and may you feel the love of those who walk beside you, seen and unseen.

With heart and flame,
Lisa

🃏 Card Meanings

💥 The Spark
"You are not seeking the light—you are the light. The spark you carry is older than fear, untouched by time, and ready to be remembered."
This is the divine essence within you. The original light. What many traditions saw as your living connection to source. It is untouched by trauma, beyond identity, and older than fear. This is your beginning.

🔥 The Keeper
"Not all fires are meant to blaze. Some must be shielded, tended, and nourished in quiet reverence. Your light is sacred. Guard it with love."
The guardian within who protects your flame. This part of you knows when to shine and when to tend softly. It honors discernment as sacred, and understands that sometimes, keeping the flame means saying no.

🌑 The Shadow
"The shadow is not your enemy—it is the doorway to wholeness. What waits in the dark may be your deepest wisdom."
The shadow is not absence, but hidden wisdom—waiting to be brought into the light. This card invites you to look gently at the parts of yourself you’ve hidden or feared, and to approach them with compassion and curiosity.
